How Much Has American Schooling Changed Since The Early Days

For as tough as American schooling is now, it could be a lot harder for today’s youth. In the past, schools were very strict and harsh on the students. Whereas, today we have very lenient punishments, and rules are upheld depending on teacher discretion, due to looser guidelines which have evolved with the times. We as American minors have many different options of schooling; private, online, advanced (stem), public and homeschooling. Therefore, this gives students an opportunity to learn at their own pace and be in a comfortable environment, which is very effective and stimulates to the brain. Although the real question is how much has American schooling actually changed since the early days? You didn’t speak unless spoken to, or you rose your hand. Then, if she called you, you would have proceeded to s tand, walk to her desk, politely and formally ask what you intended to do. Since the teachers desk was on a platform, she was always able to see most to all of her students and since she was above them, literally, every fiber of her being was screaming authoritative figure to her students. Punishment! A word that we all shy away from, but do we really know what punishment meant to kids who went to school in one room school houses? They endured many physical punishments, such as hitting the child on the knuckles with a steel tipped ruler or standing for a long period of time with your arms straight out in front or to the sides of you or even having to take cold showers. Although some teachers preferred the mental embarrassment route which included, wearing a dunce cap, being forced sit on a high stool beside the teachers desk at the front of the room or if it were a boy they would have banished them to the girls cloak room. The important information is what made them get in trouble. Things like not properly addressing the teacher as ma’m or miss, speaking out of line, or anything that was considered disrespectful such as not standing up when addressing the teacher, or using slang and not proper English. The point is these were very

Assignment 1 MATS4006 Polymer Science and Engineering II S2, 2014 Prajna Tanuwijaya Z3423370 School of Materials Science and Engineering The University of New South Wales 5th September 2014 Effects of Testing Parameters on Mechanical Properties of Polypropylene Abstract Polypropylene being often used as products with live hinges and outdoor usage, is crucial to learn the limit of how it performs under various circumstances such as extreme temperature or the frequency and speed on how it is being moved. Its breaking force are also affected by those parameters. Hence it is important to study how to maximize the usage of the materials. Experiments include tensile test, Charpy impact test and Shore hardness test. Introduction Polypropylene is a thermoplastic used in applications such as packaging, automobile parts, carpeting, and a lot more application where it involves shearing movements. There are three types of polypropylene: homo polymer, block copolymer and random copolymer. In this case, random copolymer polypropylene is used as it can be used for injection molding and application that needs high impact strength. Polypropylene is a widely used commodity plastic with high chemical resistance. Being used widely due to its properties such as good tensile strength, fatigue and heat resistance besides having very high chemical resistance and used in food industry, also have very low water absorption. Decision Support Tools for Tourism Industry- myassignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about theDecision Support Tools for Tourism Industry. Answer: Australias local government areas are some of the most eminent attractions for tourists from all over the world (Alizadeh Shearer, 2015). Tourism is an industry that is booming and shall bring in a lot of impact to the economy in the upcoming days (Cook, Hsu Marqua, 2014). Australia is filled with tourist attractions, the big tourist attractions are the one that are strategically placed in the country to drive in huge number of tourists. The business aspect to tourism is huge and it is estimated that the tourism will become one of the most dependable industries to provide economical support to a country. I propose to open up big tourist attractions in the LGA areas of the country. The two places that I propose to open up big tourist destinations are Sutherland Shire and City of Melbourne. The beach of Sutherland Shire has been selected to build the big tourist destination while in the City of Melbourne; federation square is the area where the big tourist destination shall be opene d up. The Sutherland beaches are pristine and they constantly attract the tourists as the beach remains the biggest of the spots for the tourists to hang around (Tomlinson et al., 2015). The popularity of the place will keep attracting more and more tourists from all around the world. I wish to open up a glass globe cafeteria and performance hall in both Melbourne city and Sutherland Shire beach. The Glass globe caf will be placed at the far end of a beach in Sutherland. The glass globe will have 3 sections in it. The topmost floor will be a cafeteria that will provide the people with a stunning view of the sea to enjoy while sipping their coffee. The place will have 3 floors in total. The ground floor will be a store for souvenir and other culturally exclusive products of Sutherland. The 1st floor of the glass globe will be a hall for the performance of arts such as theatre, dance, singing and film screening. The glass globe will be transparent and the entire interior should be visible from outside. The second floor shall be covered with blue mirrored glass that shall reflect the sea in the Sutherland beach and that will make it look mesmerizing. The sea is such an attractive point for tourists around the world that people are always expected to visit the beaches. The beauty of a beach caf that has a mesmerizing view of the sea shall be a constant attraction for all those who visit the Sutherland beach. The area of Sutherland that has all the beaches is popularly referred to as the shire. The shire is known to offer the best tourist places of the city and is close to the CBD of Sydney. The distance of the beach from the Sydney airport is around 25 minutes and hence it ensures that the flow of the tourists in the glass globe caf shall never dip as it is well connected to the city. Cabs, buses and shuttles are in plenty to reach the destination. The federation square of Melbourne is a place that is full of cultural exchange and intellectual communication between people. The area is a stage for all sorts of huge events that take place in the city of Melbourne (Johnstone, Caldwell Rittenbruch, 2015). The federation square is situated at the edge Melbourne CBD and hence is crowded by tourists and local alike anytime. The major events keep attracting people and it makes the area the place to hangout for all the visitors. A glass globe caf of the same model as in Sutherland beach will work successfully in the federation square. People will be glad to hang out in at the caf of glass globe and some of the events of cultural significance can be held at the performance hall that is at the 1st floor of the glass globe. The caf will provide a view of the events that are being held at the open in the fed square and it will make the people enjoy the view while sipping the amazing coffee. The business shall keep growing because events at the square shall never stop and the closeness of the point to the CBD of Melbourne further ensures that the area shall never be deserted. The entire place is filled with buildings that are made of glass and hence the glass globe shall match the areas architecture style and make sure that it stands apart from others. The transportation is well designed for the fed square as it is connected with shuttle cars, cabs and various other transports such as bus. As it is one of the most booming locations in the country, the mass of the tourists shall be directed to the area and the glass globe shall act as a big tourist destination that the people can witness and enjoy. I believe that the idea of a glass globe at both the locations will benefit the makers and make sure that high profits are achieved. The locations are selected in a way that the best of Australia is brought together and the idea of big tourist destination achieves success. The growth of such tourist destination like the glass globe at the tow mentioned locations is certain and the next 10 years shall show growth for the tourist destination. The architecture is has to be designed in such a way that the tourists interest about the location is piqued and the marketing team has to ensure that the place gets proper media attention so that it achieves popularity in the tourism sector of the country and the Local government areas of the country. Romeo and Juliet Film Review Essay Example

Romeo and Juliet Film Review Paper Baz Luhrmanns version of â€Å"William Shakespeares Romeo + Juliet†, who is also the director of Strictly ballroom, is a bold adaptation of the worlds famous tragedy. He offers a trendy, contemporary re-telling of the classic love story with Leonardo DiCaprios Romeo and Clare Danes Juliet. Even though it is set in a modern day Verona, it still shows the beauty of the romance and keeps in Shakespeares dialogue. Juliet is a naive, obedient girl at the beginning of the story, having not experienced true love, but by the time shes met Romeo and her love has deepened, we see how dramatically her character has developed. Will Romeo and Juliet ever come out with their marriage ? Well youll have to go and see the film ! Claire Danes was brilliantly casted by Luhrman to make a breathtaking Juliet. She flawlessly looks and acts the part whilst beautifully showing her love and passion for Romeo and captures her dramatic transition from childhood to womanhood. Leonardo DiCaprio was almost as impressive as Romeo. Leonardo captures the intentions of his emotions amazingly. He captures Romeos characteristic of acting at the heat of the moment wonderfully, this unfortunate characteristic however, plays a huge role leading up to the lovers tragic fate. Like Juliet, we see his character develop throughout the play. Romeo is acted very well by Leonardo DiCaprio even though he is a little over exaggerated. The supporting cast are very well played as well. John Leguizamo plays an effective and amazing Tybalt, Juliets Latino cousin. The film is set in Verona Beach (Mexico City and a beach on the Pacific Coast) but works extremely well. The fact that it is set very modernly, helps the audience relate to the story and is more entertaining to a wider audience range. The audience range is to people who think Shakespeare is boring and you only see/read his plays in school but adults also would enjoy his film. The music, is also very modern and trendy, not what you would expect in a Shakespeare film. There are some key scenes that stand out and you cant forget. For example, when we see Mercutio singing at Capulets party it is one of the humorous scenes in the play as is Tybalts entrance at the petrol station. He walks in and you instantly know he means business and you could say loves himself a little. Some of the more serious scenes sti ck in your mind as well. For instance, when Romeo and Juliet first meet you instantly know that it is love at first sight from the gaze in each others eyes and how they react. Also, Romeo and Juliet dying. This is one of the most memorable scenes in the play as it is a dramatic, emotional scene as you see how much love is in their relationship. All in all, what Luhrman did with the film was both bold and brilliant, and he succeeded wonderfully. I highly recommend you see this film, even if you arent a Shakespeare fan, you will enjoy this hip modernization of Shakespeares most famous play ever.

Consumer and Organisation Markets

Consumer and Organisation Markets Define business markets and explain how the business markets differ from consumer markets. Give relevant examples to support your answer.A business market is one consisting of individuals and organisations purchasing products and services for use in production of further goods and service for sale, lease or rental at a profit. In general a market is:"The set of all actual and potential buyers of a product or service. Buyers often share a particular demand or need which can be satisfied through exchanges or relationships." - Kotler.Consumer markets, on the other hand, consist of individuals and households that purchase services and goods for their own personal use or satisfaction, Consumers vary in age, gender, income, education and taste. For example: I may prefer to buy local milk for myself and my family, but my neighbour may buy Italian milk just for herself. One way of differentiating between these two markets is to ask whether or not the purchase represents the final purchase? Wi ll the product be consumed? Is the product being purchased for personal satisfaction?Business markets tend to have a relatively small number of purchasers.Market Square, EnniscorthyThere may be hundreds or thousands of manufacturers, which is a small amount in relation to the number of consumers. The relatively small number of purchasers to be reached, may therefore enable direct personal sales visits by sales representatives and be a major way of promoting sales.Consumer markets tend to have a relatively large number of purchasers. Millions of consumers may be interested in a particular product or service and consequently marketers will rely heavily on the media (e.g.: television, newspapers, radio) to promote services or products to a large number of people at once.High value purchases are widely evident in business markets. For example, Pizza Hut will order enough cheese...
